Mr. ND is no stranger to struggles, having been born with spina bifida, and now living with chronic renal failure and one leg amputated below the knee. Over time he developed substance use disorder. His smoking and drinking became a heavy burden on his income and strained his relationship with coworkers.
Deciding that his life needed to change, Mr. ND came to SAHARA for help, including medications funded by CHILD. At the end of two months of treatment, ND had not had alcohol for 6 weeks, and had not smoked in 2 weeks! He also saved 20% of his salary for the previous month, which can now go toward saving up for the bedroom suite. His colleagues also say he is nicer to work with, and his wife has decided to stop smoking as well.
Though this is just the start of Mr. ND's journey, it is so encouraging to see him get closer to his goal with SAHARA's support and also the help of our amazing donors!
