Several of the villages surrounding Metropolitan Mission have severe water shortage and  drinking water at the current time. Two Board members of Metropolitan Mission, living in a village approached the director  of Metropolitan Mission and said that at least ten villages within their limits are facing a grave situation and need help. Some villagers had to literally go 25 kilometers away to bring one pot of drinking water by bicycle. He said that the tap gives water only for two hours in the morning and there is a huge queue of 200 pots, at the most 25 to 30 people are benefited and then the taps stop. The village officers said there is 12 to 15 hours of shortage, which they call power cut and they are helpless. Newspapers also stated a huge power cut envisaged for another two years in Andhra Pradesh.  The only remedy is to drill a bore well to the depth of 250 to 300 feet depth. Hence they humbly request you to plunge into the action.
The numbers of bore wells needed at present are 10.
The cost for one borewell is about $1 000.

The CHILD team has met the board members that reported the shortage and has seen the lack of bore wells during their visit in 2012, although the situation was not as desperate as now.
