Congratulations to our scholarship students in South Africa on graduating from high school in December!
Over the past few years, CHILD has sponsored 5 children from Slangpruit Primary School and supported them going to Alexandra High School, which has a higher standard of education than the local township schools that they would usually have access to.
Now our last 3 scholarship students have graduated and are moving on to their next steps in life! Two are going straight to university, and the third is re-taking some tests to also gain university admission.
We are so proud of our students who have given all their effort to learning even in the midst of difficulty! These last 2 pandemic years forced a lot of doing school from home, often having to do schoolwork on a cellphone since they don't have a home computer. They also weathered periods of civil unrest in the province, which harshly affected the city they live in. They have grown into such strong young women and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours!
