CONTINUED NEED FOR WELLS
Last year we used this event as an opportunity to remind our supporters of the need for safe, fresh, drinking water in India. Again, this year there is a great need for people to support this cause.
The region surrounding Andhra Pradesh has continued to be struck with unpredictable and inhospitable weather alternating between flooding and drought. And this summer is predicted to have record high temperatures.
So there is an urgent need for wells and because of the harsh conditions they are having to dig deeper to find water, which has increased the cost of drilling a well to $2000.00. Community Health International aims to assist with the digging of 10 new wells this year.
