Health 2 Others
What would you do if someone gave you a cup of toilet water to drink
in the middle of a vast desert?
Would you drink it?
What if it was the only water available?
What if your life depended on it?
Your death could also come from it.
Death from dehydration?
Death from cholera?
The choice is yours.
It has to be yours, for there are no other choices available.
What if this is a choice you have to make for your children?
Death from giving them the only water you have—filthy, full of diseases, death in a cup.
All you can offer your children is,
A coffin for a future.
What if the death were not immediate, but your child became chronically ill?
What if your child became chronically sick with other illnesses because of the dirty water?
Vomiting and diarrhea. Fever and severe weight loss.
Stunted from the illnesses that come in endless succession.
Unable to attend school.
All you can offer your child is another cup of dirty water because,
there is nothing else.
A truck comes.
A well is drilled.
For the first time in your life,
You can offer your child something other than
Your child is already eight years old.
This child is the lucky one.
Your other three children died before they were five years old.
Your child takes the glass,
And drinks the water.
HOPE in a glass.
HEALTH in a glass.
LIFE in a glass.
Since 2014 CHILD has been able to send trucks to over 28 communities to drill wells for water---pure, clean, fresh!
From Cheemalapadu to Edadra Colony, and from Venkatagiri to Pulluru,
the old, the young, the sick, the poor have benefited from the clean water.
The pure water has become a source of health, not of death.
The clean water has become something to rejoice in.
The fresh water has become a source of hope
All because you, and many others, from all walks of life and of all
different ages, gave money to make 28 wells, and counting, possible in these Indian communities.
THANK YOU to those of you who have donated and all of you who will donate in the future.
